Competition goals

Logo - Kanceláře roku

Our annual prestige competition Kanceláře roku (Offices of the Year) rewards exceptional office inerior, that are evaluated by proffesional jury in nine different categories. We also reward one special price in it‘s own Environment Friendly category, where we also considers sustainability and environmental impact of the construction and operation of the offices.

In the competition Offices of the Year we reward exceptional office interiors, that are evaluated by a professional jury in nine different categories.

The goal of the contest is to value companies that invest in their human resources through the work environment and thereby present them as an attractive employer for prospective employees.

At the same time, the competition aims to highlight the importance of enhancing the work environment and to encourage employers to pay attention to this issue.

The professional jury evaluates the office interiors in terms of its uniqueness and design, innovation (technological, material, practical), the overall atmosphere of the environment and especially the quality of the work environment. Throughout all the categories, the jury will evaluate the attractiveness of the work environment and simply the fact if the office really is an enjoyable place to be, as this topic is now more important than ever, considering how many hours most of us spend in the office.

The contest Offices of the Year is announced and coordinated by Prochazka & Partners.

Both finalists and companies that show great effort in creating quality work environment will receive branded "Office of the Year" stickers that can be placed in their respective offices.

Competition rules

  1. The competition Offices of the Year 2018 may be entered by companies, whose office interiors were completed in the period to 20. 12. 2018.
  2. Applicants can register in nine listed categories:
    • 2.1/ Financial Institution Offices of the Year
    • 2.2/ The Lawyer Offices of the Year
    • 2.3/ IT Offices of the Year
    • 2.4/ Marketing & Media Offices of the Year
    • 2.5/ Consultancy Offices of the Year
    • 2.6/ 21st Century Offices of the Year
    • 2.7/ Hub & Co-Working Offices of the Year
    • 2.8/ Shared Service Centre Offices of the Year
    • 2.9/ Employee Friendly Offices of the Year

    You can take part in the category No. 9) with one of the categories No. 1) to 8)
  3. The interiors can be registered directly by a representative of the company or by its author, but only with the consent of the subject company.
  4. By submitting the application, the applicant confirms that:
    a/ owner and author of Interior agrees on publication of the photos and description of the interior with open discussion under the article on the website of the organizer and for its promotional purposes, in a press release, the album of registered and winning designs and pages of media partners;
    b/ applicant has the right to dispose with the copyright on the photo of interiors;
    c/ authors of photographs have objected to the competition organizers no financial interest in bringing the photos under the preceding paragraph (4a).
  5. The organizer does not guarantee that each of the registered interiors will be published. It depends on the quality of the actual interior but also the quality, size and number of photographs provided.
  6. Organizer guarantees that published on the website of the main media partner on media partners and organizers will be interiors of the finalists and the winners.
  7. The legal entity of the candidate must be active for at least 3 years, except for "Hub & Co-working Office of the Year" where the requirement is 12 months.

  2. Applicants can register in nine listed categories.
  3. The interiors can be registered directly by a representative of the company or by its author, but only with the consent of the subject company.

    The participating companies will be evaluated by the Jury at the meeting held in January.

  4. Winners Announcment

    Gala evening, the grand finále of Offices of the Year Competition is going to be held in February 2019.

Petr Zahálka works for ProInterier since 1996 and became Business Director in 2006. Company coverage spreads across the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. ProInterier provides complex product and service mix for fitting and equipment of commercial real estate interiors. It provides everything from design, project preparation to completion in form of direct supply from manufacturers and its own production. Petr Zahálka played an important role in company growth which currently belongs to largest in its sector and also regionally represents global manufacturers and leaders (Interface, Nora) in the area of design and environmental politics.

Monom is a group of architects and engineers based in Prague. The agency currently works on a wide range of projects from public space, civil buildings to complex solutions of office interiors. Monom architecture reacts and sensitively develops needs arising from contemporary life that changes and evolves dynamically.

Pavel Šťastný

Designer

Creates logos, corporate designs, exhibitions, and interiors. For example, Log Civic Forum, Seznam.cz, Datart, Mig 21, Engine Automobile Culture, Slavic House, ArtGen Office Gallery and many other developer projects. It deals with international cultural cooperation with the embassies of individual countries within the framework of the Art of Culture Diversities project and organizes the Embassy - Food & Culture Festival in the Farmer Markets in Kulaťák, which was attended by 33 countries from all over the world. It holds the motto that food and culture bring peoples together. He creates hospital beds and interior design for Linet company in the Middle East. He is a chairman of the Czech-Oman Committee at the Foreign Chamber of the Czech Chamber of Commerce, which aims to develop the cultural and commercial cooperation of both countries. He works for the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra and Royal Guard of Oman. He created the logo of the Czech exposition for EXPO 2020 in Dubai.

Lead Architect, Founder and Owner of Atelier Kunc Architects

Michal Kunc mastered in Architecture in the Academy of Arts, Architecture & Design in Prague under the guidance of Eva Jiricna. His own Atelier Kunc Architects, founded in 2002, is now one of the leading Czech architectural studios, specialising on architecture and planning of office spaces and family houses. His studio has designed offices of many national and multinational companies such as Ernst & Young, Havel, Holasek & Partners, Red Bull or most recently the Deloitte national headquarters in Prague.

After seven years of experience in advisory in commercial real estate in international firms such as Colliers International and Cushman & Wakefield Radek Procházka founded the first company in the Czech Republic, which is exclusively focused on representing tenants of commercial real estate. As managing partner, he cares for most important clients and takes on active role in negotiating suitable solutions and leading projects.

Radek Procházka started his university studies at University of New York in Prague and after two years left to the USA where he later graduated at University of San Francisco majoring in Finance.

REQUIRED COMPETITION DOCUMENTATION:

Required content of the application:

1/ At least 7 (seven) interior photos in print quality in JPG format, and a minimum size of 148 x 210 mm (A5) at a resolution of 300 DPI. TECHNICAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL INFORMATION:

1/ The deadline for applications is 8th of January 2018

2/ Entered interiors will be placed on the website of the organizer until the end of January 2017, but some media partners including the main media partner, can publish them earlier, with clear reference to the competition Offices of the Year 2018, and indicating the author.

3/ An expert Jury composed of 7 members will decide on three finalists in each of nine categories listed in paragraph 2 latest by 8th of January 2018. Winners will be announced in February. The Jury assesses the office interiors in terms of uniqueness and design, innovation (technological, material, practical), the overall atmosphere and especially the quality of the working environment for the employees.

4/ The contest is officially announced by Prochazka & Partners s.r.o.

5/ The organizer reserves the right to change the rules during the competition and decide on the suspension or complete cancellation of the competition.
